Fortekor flavour tablets are used to treat congestive heart failure in dogs. They are also licensed for the treatment of renal insufficiency in cats. Fortekor is manufactured by Novartis Animal Health and is available in three sizes of tablets; 2.5mg tablets, 5mg and 20mg flavour tablets. Fortekor has the active ingredient benazepril which is an Angiotensin converting Enzyme Inhibitor (ACEI). Fortekor tablets are given once daily and can be given with or without food.

What Are Fortekor Flavour Tablets Used For?
Fortekor Flavour tablets are used to treat cases of congestive heart failure in dogs and also kidney disease in cats. Fortekor reduces the blood pressure and therefore causes less strain on both the heart and kidneys.This therefore reduces ongoing damage to these organs. In heart disease, Fortekor is often used with other drugs also designed to support heart function, specifically diuretics such as Frusemide (used to stop the lungs filling with fluid), a drug called digoxin (used to treat abnormal heart rhythms), a drug called vetmedin (whose active ingredient is pimobendan - a calcium channel blocker) . It can also be combined with other agents and prescription diets in the management of kidney disease.

• It is given orally once every 24 hours
• It can be given mixed in food or without food
